West Dunbartonshire commemorates Holocaust Memorial Day.

On January 27th, the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp, West Dunbartonshire commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day.  The event was first held in January 2001 and has been marked on the same date every year since. Depute Provost, Karen Conaghan raised the Holocaust Memorial Flag at Solidarity Plaza, Dumbarton Road, Clydebank.  This was to honour the six million Jewish men, women and children, and others, who lost their lives during the Holocaust.
