Locals named in Birthday Honours

Four people living in the Dunbartonshire Lieutenancy area have been named in the King's Birthday Honours list.

Professor David Felix from Bearsden, lately the Dean of Postgraduate Dental Education and Director of Dentistry at NHS Education Scotland, has been awarded the OBE for services to dental education and clinical training.

Dr Rashmi Mantri from Bishopbriggs, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the British Youth International College, receives the OBE for services to mathematics education.

Kirsteen Allison from Alexandria, a disability awareness trainer, receives the MBE for services to the deaf and disabled community.

Ian Nicolson from Cove receives the MBE for services to sailing.

Dunbartonshire's Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Jill Young MBE, has paid tribute to those recognised by His Majesty.
