Dunbartonshire Lieutenancy remembers the Fallen

Hundreds of people across the Lieutenancy of Dunbartonshire gathered to mark the annual Remembrance Sunday commemorations at a series of ceremonies.

The Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Jill Young MBE, led the day's events, laying a wreath at the parade at the Solidarity Plaza in Clydebank.

Later, she took the salute at a march past, along with local dignitaries and politicians.

Deputy Lieutenants Sandie Scott and Isabel Ewing attended the ceremony at Woodilee, which was also attended by Gillian Renwick, Provost of East Dunbartonshire.

The ceremony at Old Kilpatrick was attended by Deputy Lieutenants Maureen Cummings and Kenneth Grieve.

The Lieutenancy wreath was laid by Major Garry MacLeod MBE, at the well-attended ceremony at Bishopbriggs.

The Shandon war memorial ceremony was attended by Major Mike Edwards OBE DL, who laid a wreath on behalf of the Lieutenancy.

There was a large turnout at the Kilsyth war memorial, where Anne Smillie laid a wreath.

Mark Billington DL attended the Service at St. David’s Memorial Park Church, which was conducted by Rev David Peat. The congregation was then piped to Kirkintilloch Cenotaph where wreaths were laid.
