New UK citizens sworn in

Thirteen new UK citizens have been sworn in at ceremonies in Bearsden and Dumbarton.

Eleven people, from China, Iran, Egypt, Canada, India and the USA became UK citizens at a ceremony in Kilmardinny House in Bearsden.

The ceremony was hosted by registrar Christine Wilkie and a welcome message was read on behalf of King Charles by Mark Billington DL.

Gillian Renwick, Provost of East Dunbartonshire, was also in attendance.

At the Municipal Buildings in Dumbarton, two new UK citizens were sworn in.

They come from Uganda and Pakistan.

The ceremony was hosted by Registrar Lynne Bolton and attended by the Deputy Provost of West Dunbartonshire Hazel Sorrell.
