Bearsden BBs have Lord-Lieutenant as special guest

The 3^rd Bearsden Company of the Boys’ Brigade had a special guest at their 83^rd annual inspection and display in Boclair Community Church in Bearsden.

The inspecting officer for the event was Mrs Jill Young MBE,  Lord-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire.

At an event well attended by members, parents and volunteers, Mrs Young saw the drum salute, company fall-in of junior company and senior sections as well as the march on of the company’s colours – its special flag with the dates of  memorable events embroidered on it.

There was then a church service taken by Helen Stuart, the Deputy Session Clerk, and a musical interlude on drums and piano by senior boys, before Mrs Young led the prizegiving and promotion ceremony.

Among the winners was Ben, who won the the Tom Deas Memorial Trophy for most sporting boy and the Ben Dracup Shield, a Special Recognition Award.

The 3rd Bearsden Company is a vibrant community-focused youth organisation operating out of the church. They offer fun activities, life skills, and adventures for boys across four age groups in a safe environment, emphasising their values of ‘Faith, Inspiring, Caring and Trusting.'
