International Holocaust Memorial Day marked in Clydebank

Millions of people across the World have marked Holocaust Memorial Day.

January 27th was chosen because it was on that date in 1945 that the Allies liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.

It's estimated six million Jews and millions of others were murdered by Nazi Germany during World War Two.

Dunbartonshire's Vice Lieutenant, Linda Moffat, attended a ceremony at Clydebank's Solidarity Plaza to mark the day.

Also attending were West Dunbartonshire Council's Provost Douglas McAllister, Timothy Lovat, President of the Glasgow Jewish Representative Council and Jackie Baillie MSP for Dumbarton.
