Cumbernauld couple dance on their Diamond day

Bill and Ann Ralston from Cumbernauld celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary by doing the same thing they did when they met more than 60 years ago.

The couple celebrated their big day with friends and family at the Cumbernauld Royal British Legion Seniors club.

A buffet lunch was followed by dancing, which was the appropriate way to celebrate because they met at the Victor Sylvester dance club in 1961 and have loved to dance together ever since.

They married on the 26th September 1964 and have two children, Julie and Billy.

Dunbartonshire Deputy Lieutenant Anne Walker read a goodwill message from King Charles III to the couple.
