Lord-Lieutenant visits Loch Lomond Rescue Boat

The Lord-Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire, Mrs Jill Young MBE, spent the day with the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat to learn more about their work.

Mrs Young took the helm of the launch under the instruction of the crew and saw at first hand its power and manoeuvrability.

The charity is staffed round the clock by volunteers and relies on public donations. It is hoping to move from its home in Luss to Balloch, where most of its crew live.

Mrs Young said, ‘These volunteers provide a valuable service, particularly during the summer months when the weather is good and Loch Lomond is busy with people. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and was able to thank the crew personally for all that they do.'
