East Dunbartonshire marks Armed Forces Day

In what is now an annual event for East Dunbartonshire Council, the Armed Forces flag is flying outside its HQ in Kirkintilloch, to mark Armed Forces Day.

The flag was raised on 25 June 2022.

Pictured left to right are Robert Campbell MBE, a retired Royal Highland Fusilier living in East Dunbartonshire, the Council’s Veterans Champion, Councillor Stewart MacDonald, Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Jill Young MBE and Provost Gillian Renwick.

Mrs Young said, "It is important that we never forget the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces and this day, set aside for us to demonstrate our respect, is our chance to honour them publicly and show our admiration and appreciation which is also for serving troops, their families, veterans and cadets."
