Dunbartonshire's Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Jill Young MBE, has paid tribute to three Deputy Lieutenants who have retired.
At the Annual Lieutenancy dinner she marked the retirement of Andrew Nicholson JP DL, Sister Rita Dawson MBE DL and Mr Gerry McElroy MBE DL.
At the dinner, Mrs Young presented Gerry McElroy with a quaich and parchment to mark 10 years as a DL.
Gerry said, ' My time as a Deputy Lieutenant has been a great honour for myself and my family. The various activities, celebrations and presentations I have attended and the people I have met have shown the County at its very best. Meeting The Queen and The Princess Royal are occasions I will never forget. It has been a pleasure to serve.'
Mrs young added, ' Gerry has been a pillar of his community and always represented it with pride and great energy. I'd like to thank him for all his years of service and I hope he enjoys a very well deserved retirement.'
Andrew Nicholson JP DL was appointed in 2009 and gave 13 years service to the Lieutenancy. He was the chair of the Honours and Awards Committee and hosted a number of Royal and VIP visits and was very active in his local community of Rhu.
Sister Rita Dawson MBE DL was appointed 1999 and gave 23 years service to the Lieutenancy. She carried out incredible work for St Margaret's Hospice in Cludebank and her local community and hosted a number of Royal and VIP visits.
