More than 400 family members, friends and local dignatories got together at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew to say happy 100th birthday to Mrs Pritam Kaur Purewal, from Bearsden. Tom Finnigan MBE DL read a message from His Majesty the King and presented a card to Mrs Purewal. The Provost of East Dunbartonshire Gillian Renwick and Pam Gosal MSP were also in attendance, with Ms Gosal presenting Pritam with a framed all party motion from the Scottish Parliament. She also read out a letter of congratulations from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
