Prestigious award for Clydebank Sea Cadet officer

A top level national award has been won by the commanding officer of Clydebank's Sea Cadets.

Lt Nadine Daly RNR was presented with the award by Dunbartonshire Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Jill Young MBE.

More than 400 people across the UK were in contention for the Roddie Casement Sword, which is awarded to the cadet commanding officer who has done the most to achieve the Sea Cadet Corp's aim over the previous year.

Nadine is currently a Development Officer at YouthLink Scotland.

Prior to this she was a primary school teacher and a graduate of Stirling University. 

She has been a Sea Cadet volunteer for nearly nine years and as a Yoker girl, had herself been a cadet at the Clydebank Sea Cadets.

Since taking command in 2020, the Unit has gone from strength to strength and is amongst the top-performing in the UK with a full complement of cadet numbers, a waiting list and children who are valued and have optimism for the future.
