Hundreds enjoy disability tennis festival

The East Dunbartonshire Disability Tennis Festival ran over two days in early May and was enjoyed by juniors, adults and spectators alike.

It was hosted at the Nuffield Health sports complex in Milngavie and the Sporting Aces charity collaborated with East Dunbartonshire Council, Tennis Scotland and Active Schools to stage the event.
The afternoon was filled with games and challenges associated with tennis and a high standard of singles and doubles was to be seen by the end of the afternoon. Every participant was actively engaged and the effort from the volunteers from the charity was humbling. The event was attended by Deputy Lieutenant Margaret Stewart who presented medals and certificates. She said, 'it was a wonderful event with wonderful people and it was a great privilege to be there and see everyone enjoying themselves so much.'
