Lord-Lieutenant pays tribute to retiring DLs

The Dunbartonshire Lieutenancy has said goodbye to three senior Deputy Lieutenants after decades of service to the community.

The trio retired in April 2025 after their terms of office came to an end.

‘I’d like to pay tribute to them all because they have given such long and valuable service to the Lieutenancy and the community,’ said Mrs Jill Young MBE, Dunbartonshire’s Lord-Lieutenant.

Ms Linda Moffat RD DL from Helensburgh has been a DL for 10 years and has been very active within the Community throughout her time. She has served on a number of Lieutenancy Committees and groups and latterly served as Vice Lord-Lieutenant for three years.

Wing Commander George Campbell OBE OStJ DL from Cardross, has been an active DL for 21 years and Ian Dickson BEM DL from Milngavie, for 10 years. Ian also chaired the Lieutenancy Honours and Awards committee.

George and Ian were presented with farewell gifts by Mrs Young at the Lieutenancy's spring meeting in Kilmardinny House in Bearsden.
