Plinth marks Centenary of Helensburgh Scouting

A plinth has been unveiled as part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the John Street Scouts hall in Helensburgh.

The plinth was unveiled at the town's outdoor museum in Colquhoun Square by Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire, Dr Gill Aitkenhead, MBE DL.

Lady Olive Baden-Powell, World Chief Guide and wife of Scouting founder Lord Baden-Powell, officially opened the hall on November 6, 1925.

There has been a year of celebrations leading up to the new plinth, and hundreds of young people from across the area's Scouting and Girl Guiding units have been involved.
