Lord-Lieutenant attends Glasgow Golf Club opening

Dunbartonshire's Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Jill Young MBE, attended the official opening of the clubhouse of Glasgow Golf Club on Saturday 21 May, 2022. 

The refurbished building was officially opened by Mrs Belle Robertson MBE with the original key used by Captain Edward Service in 1904.

A tree was planted to commemorate the event by Lady Macfarlane of Bearsden, wife of the late Dunbartonshire DL, Baron Norman Macfarlane of Bearsden.

A time capsule was also buried.

A group photograph with all those present, was a re-enactment of the 1904 photo when the clubhouse was originally opened

The couple's son, Hon. Hamish Macfarlane, is the current Captain of Glasgow Golf Club.
