Lieutenancy awards schoolgirl's lockdown efforts

Ten year-old Heather Bryson from Lenzie has been awarded the Lord-Lieutenant's certificate "for her excellent service to the community of East Dunbartonshire."

Heather was very busy during lockdown raising awareness - and funds - for charity.

She created exercise sessions from her home which were streamed live online to help elderly people and those living with dementia.

The certificate was presented by Mark Billington DL, on behalf of Lord-Lieutenant Mrs Jill Young MBE.

“What an inspiration this 10 year-old is, and what amazing achievements she has reached,” he said.

Heather said, 'I am honoured to receive this certificate and I want to keep doing as much as I can to help people.'
