Deputy Lieutenant Anne Smillie read out a special greetings card from The King to John and Lily McGroarty as they celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary at their home in Kirkintilloch.
She also delivered a special message from Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Jill Young MBE.
Also joining the celebration was East Dunbartonshire’s Provost, Gillian Renwick.
The couple met at a dance in the Kirkintilloch Town Hall and got married at Holy Family and St Ninian's Church.
