New UK citizens sworn-in

Three new UK citizens have been sworn-in at ceremonies in West Dunbartonshire.
Elizabeth-Millimo Namalambo Chong Mweetwa Mayanda from Zambia and Piotr Neumann from Poland became UK citizens at a ceremony in the Municipal Buildings in Dumbarton.

Elizabeth initially lived in England where she raised her family before moving to Scotland in 2019.

Piotr has lived in Scotland for a number of years and is raising his family here.

He and his wife now run their own business in West Dunbartonshire.

Deputy Lieutenant Elaine Ferguson welcomed the new citizens and read a message from King Charles.

Also in attendance was Hazel Sorrell, the Deputy Provost West Dunbartonshire.

The third new citizen was Kristin Cooper from Australia, who was sworn-in at a ceremony at the civic centre in Helensburgh.

Elaine Ferguson DL was again in attendance and read a message from the King.

When Kristin first came to Scotland she was employed by the MacLeans on the Isle of Mull and learned about the family’s close links with the Monarchy.

Whilst on the island, she witnessed The Royal Yacht Britannia pass by and sound her horn to the family and all watching her sail by.

Kristin works for Walkers Shortbread who currently hold the King’s Royal Warrant.

She is now married to a Scot and loves everything about the UK.
